CEO – Kathy Butler, M.A., CFRE

Kathy is passionate about fundraising and helping nonprofits inspire their donors and achieve their fundraising goals through personalized fundraising, strategic planning and governance coaching.  With over 38 years in fund development and nonprofit management, helping raise over $50 million for small and larger organizations in post-secondary education and health care, she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to any team.  Kathy has experience in corporate and individual major giving, annual giving, capital campaigns, planned giving, case statements, grant and proposal writing, sponsorship and strategic philanthropy, alumni relations, board relations and engagement, risk management as well as internal and external communications. She has particular expertise with organizations that have parallel foundations helping them navigate governance issues and fundraising roles. Kathy is a seasoned professional who develops people, manages continuity, change and transition while upholding the core values of honesty, high ethical standards and integrity.

Kathy received her initial designation as a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 1993 and holds a Master of Arts degree in Philanthropy and Development from Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.  She enjoys both country and city life, her family and her beloved celtic harp. She founded Circumference Consulting in 2018.
